The Troll A Offshore Gas Platform, located off Norway in the North Sea, is listed by the Guinness World Records as the tallest object ever moved by mankind - with a dry weight of the gravity base structure at 656,000 tonnes and a height of 472 metres – the platform stands in over 300 metres of water in the North Sea.

Thos Storey designed and manufactured the “Star Girder” from mainly standard Bailey Bridging components. The system was trial erected and proved in the company’s Stockport factory before being dismantled and shipped in sections to a fjord in Norway.
